The Bridge of Storm Lake is holding its 5th Annual Run For Our Future on Saturday, May 27th to help raise funds for its Summer Youth Program. The 2017 Summer Youth Program includes a team of four AmeriCorps Summer Associates and two Summer RefugeeRISE Members serving at The Bridge with the AmeriCorps-given goal of “preventing summer learning loss in local youth.” This program also provides transportation to the school district’s free lunch program, summer camps, educational opportunities in the Cultivate Training Gardens, and regular activities at The Bridge Neighborhood Centers.
The run will begin at 8:00 a.m. The course will follow the beautiful Lake Trail from Lakeside Marina to Storm Lake Marina. The 10K runners will race from Lakeside Marina to Storm Lake Marina. The 5K runners will start by Lake Pointe Villa and run towards Storm Lake Marina. At the finish line, a kids’ fun run will start at 9:30 a.m.
The registration cost is $25 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K. Runners’ packet pickup for the race will be held in the King’s Pointe lobby from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M or from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 26. Race day packet pick up will be Saturday, May 27th from 6:00 A.M.-7:00 A.M. There will be an added $10 to register during packet pick up times. A shirt is included with registration while supplies last.
