It’s the end of week three and the team has been working hard to plan, build relationships, and work in the garden. We’ve got nine AmeriCorps Summer Associates working with us and their goal is to prevent summer learning loss. Our schedule is jammed packed with a planning period, BridgeKIDS program, Middle School group, garden time, and neighborhood activities at various locations throughout the summer. If you’re interested in coming to a neighborhood night this summer, call the office and Hannah will hook you up with the dates and locations of our evening meals.
Yesterday we had a community garden work day. BridgeKIDS, middle schoolers and volunteers worked to weed and plant seedlings. The kids were enthusiastic to jump in and get their hands dirty. We’ll have broccoli, potatoes, beets, radishes, coffee, and possibly onions to sell at the Farmer’s Market tomorrow morning from 8am-12pm
